NY1's scrappy journalists and technicians covered it all, even down to the many secondary stories. It reported on the cab drivers who seemed to be making fortunes by jacking up fares and even discussed a lawsuit brought by a restaurant that claimed it took a financial hit during the strike.

There was a time when communities would seek counsel from the elders. More experience usually translated into lessons learned.
