More cars for Wabash Tunnel urged

I've always ranted about this tunnel. It is a great example of folly in Pittsburgh. It cost a lot of money and few use it.

I do use the road, nearly every day. We go this route on our way out of town to a swim team practice. We need to leave town for a team that we enjoy as there is so little swimming in the city.

But, the roadway should be without the HOV restriction. But, it should be made into a road and a bike / pedestrian road as well.

City Councilman Jim Motznik is perfectly willing to admit that, technically, he has been in violation of Port Authority HOV restrictions by driving through the Wabash Tunnel without a passenger in his car.

That's his point.
I NEVER drive in the HOV lane without the passengers however. That's wrong. And, there is often a PAT police person there.

He is right that there is no other people in the tunnel.
