PAT board passes North Shore Connector

After nearly an hour of testimony by members of the general public, this morning the Board of Directors of the Port Authority of Allegheny County voted 5-2 to approve the primary contract for construction of the "North Shore Connector" rapid transit extension project, which will serve Pittsburgh's Lower North Side. The primary contract includes construction of twin tunnels under the Allegheny River, between Pittsburgh's Golden Triangle central business district and the North Side.
