P-G: Short-term reprieve for mass transit The Port Authority will postpone fare increases scheduled for Feb. 1 for at least a month thanks to stopgap funding from the state.
Gov. Ed Rendell announced yesterday that he plans to transfer $18.8 million in highway funds to cash-strapped transit systems statewide, including $4.7 million to the Port Authority.
